AFRACA Moves To Consolidate Its Partnership With Sister Networks

In line with AFRACA strategic direction on partnership and networking, creating opportunities for value chain
finance in Africa and policy development and advocacy; AFRACA Chairman and Deputy Governor, Bank of Ghana,
Mr. Millisson Narh led a delegation of AFRACA member institutions on invitation by the Association of Development
Financing Institutions (ALIDE) to Peru and Brazil.
The delegation included the Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Dr. Charity L. Dhliwayo, the Executive
Director, Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Prof. Kinandu Muragu, the Secretary General, AFRACA, Mr. Saleh U.
Gashua, Mr. Gerald Nyaoma, Director, Bank Supervision Central Bank of Kenya among others.
In addition to looking for business opportunities for AFRACA and its Members, the focus areas for the visit included
policy issues in Agricultural Finance, Agency Banking, Green Banking as well as innovative models in Climate
Smart Agriculture.
The visit took the delegation to Lima in Peru and Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The programme has been facilitated by the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE). The delegates held very insightful talks and gained first-hand information into the operations of Banco Agropecuario, ALIDE, Corporación Financiera de Desarrollo S.A. (COFIDE) and Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (BCRP) in Peru. While in Brazil, the delegates met with Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), Banco do Brasil S.A. and CRESOL.
