Training of Trainers Programme on Financing Innovation in the Small Scale Fisheries sub-sector in Kenya

The African Rural and Agricultural Association (AFRACA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is implementing its project on ‘Technical Services in the Development of Credit Programmes to Finance Private Sector Innovation in Sustainable Fisheries along the Kenyan Coast’. The project is also a multi-disciplinary project currently being implemented in Thailand.

Since its launch early this year, the project has conducted several surveys and consulted with a wide range of stakeholders including financial service providers (FSPs) who have expressed their willingness to exploit possible pathways for the transformation off the small-scale fisheries subsector. AFRACA & FAO will conduct a field test with an aim to improve the materials developed with select financial service providers and other relevant stakeholders.
