Caroll Bakang is the Head of Multilateral Relations at AFRACA.

She is a highly accomplished development professional with over 15 years of experience across Africa in rural and agricultural finance, agricultural value chains, policy advocacy, legal advisory, and capacity building. Her academic credentials include multiple postgraduate qualifications: an MBA in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, an MBA in Investment Planning, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She has also been admitted to pursue an LLM in International Commercial Law at the University of Salford in Manchester.

Her career is defined by a strong commitment to policy-driven finance, agricultural entrepreneurship, and strategic multilateral collaboration, with a particular focus on stakeholder relations and partnership engagement. Currently, she serves as Head of Multilateral Relations at the African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (AFRACA).

Trilingual in French, English, and Kiswahili, she brings extensive expertise in negotiation, legal consultancy, mediation, training facilitation, and policy advocacy, with a deep understanding of membership and partnership engagement strategies. She has a proven track record in conceptualizing, planning, and executing high-level forums, international workshops, training programs, and government engagements aimed at advancing agricultural finance both within and beyond Africa. She has assisted many governments in Africa and outside Africa to develop new innovative products around digitalization, fisheries, rural and agricultural finance.

As a qualified business lawyer and certified trainer in agri-value chain finance, she is also a committed advocate for women’s empowerment and youth engagement in agriculture. She currently serves on the board of RĂ©seau des Femmes en Action pour le Climat et l’Économie Circulaire (REFACE), a women-led network focused on climate change and the circular economy.
