Agriculture Finance Coaching Programme

April 26, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm UTC+0 at online

The Coaching Programme was launched in 2017 by ADA and FAO (under the Capacity Building in Rural Finance (CABFIN), a partnership comprising the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the German Society for International Co-operation (GIZ), the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the World Bank, the World Food Programme (WFP)) in 2017 with two initial pilots – a national pilot in Lao PDR and a regional pilot in West Africa with the participation of a total of 8 Financial service providers (FSP).

The methodology used was motivated by the recognition that traditional forms of consultant-based, time-bound TA delivery to FSPs in the areas of rural and agricultural finance have often resulted in suboptimal results and are generally characterised by a partial and/or a lack of durable internalisation of the intended knowledge transfer.

During four years since the launch, the coaching programme in agricultural finance had failures and successes and has evolved; finally, we have sought to strike the right balance between all the different elements involved in the process and ready to share the experience accumulated during the implementation of this programme.

The workshop will last two hours, with the following agenda:

  • Presentation of the results of the evaluation and lessons learned;
  • Testimony of a coachee;
  • Q/A session

The password of the Zoom room will be provided upon request. Please contact info@rfilc.org
