Who We Are

African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association

The African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (AFRACA) is a leading pan-african network of financial and non-financial institutions promoting access to rural and agricultural finance in Africa.

AFRACA was established in 1977 as a lead advocate and coordinator on rural and agricultural finance in Africa. Today our membership has grown to over 90 member institutions spread across Africa and we have facilitated access to financial services to over 5 million rural small holder farmers spread across the Continent.

The AFRACA Secretariat is based in Nairobi, Kenya with diplomatic status which we received in 2003. We are currently registered under the  NGOs Coordination Act (1981).

Our governance structure and mandate as an Association is embedded in the AFRACA constitution
