8th Annual Sacco Leaders’ Convention

The Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (KUSCC0) will host its 8^ème Annual SACCO Leaders Convention (SLC) themed “SACCOs: Championing the Bottom–Up Economy For Growth and Sustainability” at Sarova Whitesands Beach Hotel, Mombasa from 20^ème to 24^ème February 2023. The Convention is open to all SACCO Board Members, SACCO delegates, Chief Executive Officers, Senior SACCO Managers, SACCO Business Partners, Government, and County Executives, Legislators.

SACCOs play an integral role in the economy by promoting access to affordable credit as well as general financial services to the members allowing them to save and borrow loans for their business, pay school fees, buy business assets, build houses and homes, buy land etc

This year’s convention intends to address the following issues: –

1. How SACCOs can actively participate in the Financial Inclusion (Hustler) Fund that has been established by the Government;
2. How well does the Kenyan financial system work for SACCOs and what challenges confront the sector in providing financial services to its members that need to be on the national agenda from a public policy perspective;
3. How SACCOs can leverage on digital technology to improve access, lower costs and improve delivery to its members.

 The 8^ème Annual Sacco Leader’s Convention aims to provide insights into how SACCOs can be positioned as vehicles to accelerate Socio-Economic Development in the Country. Specific objectives include:

1. To showcase success stories of socio-economic development of SACCO member’s lifestyle through improved housing, education, incomes, skills development and employment.
2. To discuss an industry road map that can enable greater benefits from digital technologies in future to enhance financial inclusion among SACCOs
3. To create awareness among SACCO Leaders on the need and benefits of collaboration with the Government and other financial service providers.
4. To discuss challenges that SACCOs face when delivering financial services to their members.
5. To identify Sectoral recommendations and mitigation strategies to accelerate SACCO growth and development.
