Happy 2025!

As we look forward to another new year, I am happy to bring to you our highlights of an amazing 2024 full of new learnings and exciting collaborations.

I am delighted to announce that AFRACA concluded its focused impact study with Central bank institutions. The report titled Insights into Central Bank Policies on rural and agricultural finance: The case of AFRACA members is now ready for validation. The report is a huge milestone for AFRACA in efforts to understand the collective contribution of AFRACA members in the rural and agricultural finance space in Africa. A befitting initial achievement in line with AFRACA’s Strategic Plan 2021-2025 which placed emphasis on impact.

A heartfelt thank you to our members and partners who continue to support our work. Special thanks to Bank of Uganda and Banque Centrale du Congo for supporting our key policy convenings in Kampala and Kinshasa respectively; and also to our partner Small Foundation whose support continues to strengthen our network and activities.

This year we look forward to more targeted engagement with other AFRACA member categories including Agri banks, MFI’s and rural banks to better understand their needs and impact. I wish to also announce that AFRACA is the host of the upcoming 8ème World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance from 27ème to 31st October 2025.
