The second General Assembly of the Integrated and Circular Technologies for Sustainable city region FOOD systems in Africa’ or INCITIS-Food project was held from 3 to 10 February 2024 at the University of Ibadan which is also a member of the Consortium in the Horizon Europe research project. The Assembly gathered to review key milestones achieved during the year and map out key activities for subsequent years. Other Assembly activities included the hydroponics workshop led by Prof. Francisco Orsini and his team from the University of Bologna. AFRACA recognizes the support of representatives from Central Bank of Nigeria who also joined the Assembly at the University.
Delegates also took time to pay a courtesy call to Eng. Seyi Makinde, Governor Oyo State who expressed his interest in establishing a partnership between INCITIS Food project and the Oyo State Government to become a member of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact. This will involve training urban residents, particularly young adults and women with a focus on sustainable urban food systems, thus increasing food production and creating meaningful employment.
